Every job has a “Costs on this job” card. What you spend goes in there, and the job’s money summary shows spent and margin next to quoted and collected.
Three ways to add a cost
- Say or type it — “Home Depot, forty-two eighty, mulch” — and tap “Write it up”: the assistant fills in the fields for you to confirm.
- Snap the receipt — “Add receipt photo” attaches the photo to the cost as evidence. This works on every plan, including Free.
- On paid plans, “Read the receipt” turns the photo into line items — each line with its own amount and type — and one tap saves them all, sharing the photo.
Good to know: Saved costs are permanent evidence: they can’t be edited or deleted, only corrected with a new line. That’s what makes your margin numbers trustworthy.
Tip: Material costs teach your price book what things cost you — which powers the margin warnings when you quote.
